Fashion For The Rains || Take Up Space In Your Full Skirts. Here Are Two Ways To Style It.

It is summer elsewhere. But right here, where this writer will be holed up for the next couple of months, it is raining everyday. Torrents are pouring outside, right now, and raging wind is blowing rainwater into a balcony that served as my photography set just moments ago.

In a couple of hours, I will be at a beauty product launch. And my first choice of outfit was a marigold two-piece culottes. But it doesn’t feel like a culottes day, it feels more like a day for drapes and extra fabric. So, a full skirt to the rescue.

Folake Kuye Huntoon models the look better. Take note of these two styles, for your rainy day elegance.

1. Cropped-On Full.

Pair your full skirt with a cropped top. The choice of length of sleeves is yours to make. Long or short, you total look will exude elegance. You may choose long, to protect yourself from the cold and roll it up, if temperatures go up before you arrive home.

Wear it as a solid co-ords or colour-block, paired with heeled sandals or pumps.

Alternatively, you may want to feed your want for summer with a printed floor-length skirt, worn with a cap-sleeved crop-top, and topped-up by embellishing with a hard-to-miss earing and belt. Don’t leave home without a shawl, irrespective of the tied scarf on your head.

2. Denim-ed Out!

As a second option, pull out your denim. This feels like its legitimate season, even though it is also an unquestionable year-rounder.

Pair it with a solid colored full skirt and animated sandals. Or lighten it up with flowers, over pumps. A floor-length skirt is also an option, if you consider it. After all, a cold feet is generally what nobody want.
